10/19/09:  Slated for sometime later this fall, Molly Maguires Backstreet Hornpipe Consortium (a.k.a. The Molly Maguires) will be entering the studio to start work on an album of jazz inflected Irish fiddle tunes.  The Molly Maguires are Monique Canniere, Geoff Hansplant, Paul Deck and Pete McRae playing a range of instruments including fiddle, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, cello, drums and bhodran.  The album consists or original compositions in traditional Irish folk style, but with jazz shadings and an approach spanning a number of musical genres.
